3D comes of age

When 3D movies first hit the big screen, health professionals were concerned about the impact on children’s eyes.  I raised similar concerns in this blog.

Now, 3D has gone far beyond the theater.  Even  classroom teachers are presenting content using 3D technologies, so an update is in order.

Last fall, the American Optometric Association released a 30-page report summarizing 3D use in schools. (Link below.) The report states that 3D can enhance learning, especially for visual learners.

However, if your child experiences any of the “3Ds of 3D” – discomfort, dizziness, lack of depth perception – check with your doctor.
