Digital age parenting

The Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop continues to generate significant data with direct application to everyday parenting.  A recent report, “Families Matter: Designing media for a digital age,” is a quick read with helpful parent take-aways. (See link below for executive summary.)

This research confirms what we’ve read consistently:  parents are unaware of how much time kids spend using media and what children are doing. Supervision of mobile devices is harder  than monitoring a TV or desktop which is stationary  in a visible location in the house.

Anyway, this is a good read.
