Action, not violence

What element appeals to kids watching cartoons?

In a word: action.

That’s the take-away from recent research from Indiana University.  Children surveyed liked a cartoon more when characters were non-violent.

If producers would increase action and decrease violence, children  would be happier and so would parents who care about exposing children to violent images:  70% of kid cartoons contain violence.
