Wallpaper TV

I’m afraid that the Halloween hoopla last week buried an important warning from the American Academy of Pediatrics:  “casual TV can hurt kids.” (Link below.)

Casual TV, or what I refer to as “wallpaper television” is similar to the “secondhand smoke”  concept of health-impacting influences that float through the air.

Regular readers of this blog know how strongly I feel about supporting the media ban for toddlers under two.  This new data warns about secondhand TV for this same vulnerable population.

I still wonder if some future research will link “wallpaper TV” with the increased number of reported cases of learning disorders….
