Keep on parenting

My consistent message when I speak with parents of teens is “keep on parenting.”  Too often, parents of teens think that they can stop parenting, simply because their kids are  internet-savvy, know so much about the world and care deeply about causes.

My message: don’t stop parenting!

At least once a week, research crosses my desk that underlines the important role parents continue to play in the lives of their teens.  Today, the data revealed almost 60% of teens say parents have the most influence on their online behavior.

That’s not surprising, and this simply reflects only a single sphere of influence.  So don’t stop parenting!
