Candy Land revisited

Deals for board games are appearing even mid-week in the holiday ad barrage.  Board game sales have steadily increased, as parents seek non-screen options for bonding.

Some sales surely reflect the halo of nostalgia, as we look back  to recapture  simpler times.  But board games also  reflect a desire for social fun, an underlying need met by moving markers around a square cardboard, long before Facebook appeared.
