Boys growing up faster

With the focus on the election and now the holiday hoopla, there’s been little, if any, attention paid to significant data released in October from the American Academy of Pediatrics. (link below)

The fast-glance conclusion:  boys are maturing faster today than in the past.   Previous research documented the earlier onset of puberty in girls, but this study focused on boys.

I hope this data, which validates the observations of many parents, will  trigger in-depth conversations in the new year.

The KAGOY phenomena – kids are growing older, younger – has been evident for the past 15 years, as we’ve watched toys and play themes age-down.
