Label detectives

Grocery shopping with kids has always been a chore, but the job is even taking longer now that parents have become students of food labels.

Most moms and dads know to avoid products with high fructose corn syrup (glucose-fructose syrup, isoglucose, etc.), but parents are digging deeper.

Some wheat breads contain sugar, and even applesauce doesn’t always contain merely apples and water.  It pays to check.

  1. Shopping does take longer I read and compare the labels from different brands. I check the ingredients, if it is 5-8 more I just stop reading. So many preservatives you just can’t believe.
