Playful learning

As I prepare to attend the annual International Toy Fair in New York City, show communications are already predicting I’ll see more toys that will trigger “playful learning.”

That’s a great term.

“Playful learning” actually describes what happens when kids play: neurons change at the front of the brain, triggering more complex brain development. Those new brain circuits help kids (and adults!) solve problems, relate to others and regulate emotions.

Play really does matter!
