Toy-free?

The baby box concept, imported from Finland has been sweeping our country, but I’m not certain a trend from Germany will be embraced by U.S. parents.

Some German early childhood centers are going toy-free at least one day each week. Rooms are left with only blankets, pillows and furniture and children are encouraged to play outside.

Observers say children are more social, creative and communicative on toy-free days. Others complain going toy-free is a form of child abuse.

How would your child respond to toy-free days?
